Mr SP Chua was called home to be with the Lord on 24 Apr 2010
This is to inform all BB First Coy friends and supporters that Mr SP Chua was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday (24 April 2010).
The late Mr SP Chua was an honorary president and one of 12 founding members of The Boys' Brigade, Singapore when it started in 1930.
He had served in the Brigade for the past 80 years - as BB Boy, Officer, Captain and Brigade President.
During the Japanese occupation, he risked his life to preserve sacred items of The Boys' Brigade, like drum sets and BB literature, including minutes of meetings.
Immediately after the Japanese occupation, he quickly revived the First Singapore Company and the BB Battalion in Singapore.
He left an honorable legacy behind for every BB Boy to follow ...
There is no retirement in the BB - because it is the Lord’s work. The time I retire is when God stops me working - through sickness or death.” S P Chua

BB First Company Heritage Corner
On 12 January 2010, The First will mark its 80th Anniversary!
One of the many things The First will do for its 80th anniversary is to display at the "HERITAGE CORNER" at 77 Prinsep Street as much BB materials as possible, materials like trophies, badges, magazines, photographs, equipments, membership cards, etc, which we have stored away in our storerooms, cupboards, drawers, boxes, tin cans, etc, or forgotten.
All of us are invited to participate and make the "HERITAGE CORNER" a worthy project by donating our BB memorabilia to array the "HERITAGE CORNER".
Please find the letter regarding the heritage corner: BB_Heritage_Letter_2009.doc
